Due to some extraordinary luck over the ages, the Estonian city of Tallinn has retained more of its original medieval structures than most cities in Europe. 3. Hobart, Tasmania, Australia
While taking a city break in Australia usually meaning visiting Brisbane, Melbourne, or even jumping across the Tasman Sea to visit Auckland in New Zealand, little attention on the same level is reserved for Hobart. Being the charming capital of Tasmania, Hobart was borne out of less noble intentions, as it had its start as a penal colony around the start of the 19th century.
